Ballina

Hooray! We have left the Clarence River as the swell has calmed after nearly two weeks allowing us to cross the bar safely. The boat is anchored at Ballina where we will be leaving her for 10 days. We have hired a car and returned to Port Maquarie in order for Caroline to have a small operation on her knee. We have been asured she will be back sailing in two weeks everything going well :)

There are quite a lot of sea birds around and Caroline was hit by one messy bird poo, which we will assume is a lucky sign.

A big congratulations to Karen and Peter on the arrival of their first child, Lara Astrial Hocking, who was born on February 10th. We are looking forward to meeting her :)

  1. Hi D & C, long time so see.

Been reading your blog and it sounds like you are having a grand time. Bird poo looks a bit messy, but if it brings luck ...

We had a great time in Sweden and London. Lots of family and friends. Nice to have a white Christmas.

Had a picnic on Fairlight beach yesterday with Dave, Laura, Peter, Natalie and Tracey (who you haven't met but has joined us at The Bakery).

    Where are you heading now?

  3. Hi All

Thanks for your comments, they were a nice suprise as we were convinced nobody reads the blog!

I had my op last Thursday and am just back on my feet with the aid of crutches and painkillers. I am hoping to be nearly back to normal by next Sunday when we will assess if I am able to return to the boat.

Assuming all is OK we will head up to the Gold Coast. Again, if anyone wants to visit at any point just let us know.

    C & D x
